Clinical Study of the Uveitis

Abstract
Although there are many researches in the uveitis, there assertion on the known etiology are somewhat different with each other and most of there assertion are of unknown origin. Furthermore, the definition of the known origin are changing according to the epoch. For example, it has been defined due to syphilis during 1800, tuberculosis in early 1900, allergic during 1930, brucellosis and sarcoidosis during 1940, toxoplasmosis during 19E0, histoplasmosis and viral infection during 1960.
An analysis has been made of 69 eyes in the 63 uveitis patients treated in Chungnam University Hospital during last two years.
Concluded that it is difficult to use clinical material for the purpose of establishing an etio¡þlogic diagnosis in uveitis, for the usual techniques of biopsy can not be applied to the eye. Therefore, a more indirect approach of correlating systemic diseases with ocular lesions must be taken. Arguments have been set forth for establishing clinical entities in uveitis when possible to allow a more precise correlation between specific type of ocular lesions and various systemic diseases.
